Social Care of Poor Families

IZS seeks to provide extremely poor families, patients and disabled with in-kind and cash aid in order to meet their necessary needs and ease their suffering.

Program Objectives

Contribute to meet the poor needs, ease their suffering, improve their living conditions and bring them delight.

Promote the spirit of solidarity, brotherhood and compassion by motivating privileged Muslims to support needy people.

Support deprived families and prevent them from using illegal means to meet necessary needs.

Ease the suffering of poor and marginalized families and help them to overcome part of daily life difficulties.

Relieve part of the financial obligations that burden patients and needy people.

Provide some medical supplies (medications, essential medical equipment, eyeglasses, etc.).

Support patients throughout activating partnership amongst different local institutions to provide those patients with supportive medical services.

Cash Aid

IZS adopts a disbursement system of cash aid to target families, includes a set of funds classified as follows:

Fund of sponsoring poor families

After thorough social field search, financial aid is awarded monthly or periodically and vary from one family to another depending on fieldwork results and the system followed by the IZS. Households are chosen according to following standards:

No constant source of income.
Breadwinner unable to work.
The number of family members more than five.
Sons/ daughters unable to work.
No Ministry of social affairs’ subsidies.
From Gaza City.

Safety for rental dwellers

It is a monthly rental subsidy for classified needy families.

Relieving The needy

Financial aid is awarded to address immediate needs of deprived people known by the IZS. Those in need ask IZS to help them have food to their children or to meet other emergency needs they can’t afford to.

Insolvent debtor

IZS relieves the sorrow of poor debtors who are obliged by court order to repay their debts and who are already in prison because of being unable to repay their debts.

Educational Assistance

IZS disburse cash assistance to poor outstanding students to obtain their certificates through fund for outstanding poor students.

Target Group

Outstanding poor and needy students ( grade point average at least 80%).
Disabled outstanding students.

Students Acceptance Conditions:

Bring a student card and a transcript ( semester average not less than 80%).
Meet sponsorship conditions (student’s family should be a registered beneficiary at IZS and meet sponsorship standards).

Medical Assistance

it covers the costs of medical needs and equipment throughout making agreements with specialized medical centers and clinics. This project includes the following funds:

Fund of Travel Expenses

IZS covers travel costs to patients transferred abroad as the Ministry of Health covers treatment expenses only.

Fund of Cancer Patients

IZS affords social and financial aid to cancer patients including monthly transportation costs to be able to follow up treatment in hospitals.

Fund of Renal Failure Patients

IZS provides renal failure patients with social and financial aid including monthly transportation costs to be able to follow up their treatment in hospitals.

Fund of Diabetic Foot Patients

IZS affords all treatment costs to diabetic foot patients in cooperation with a specialized center and other bodies supporting charity work.

Fund for Providing unavailable Medicine

IZS seeks to provide the poor with medicines unavailable at the Ministry of Health stores, in addition to medicines of chronic diseases.

Fund of Eyeglasses for Children

IZS contributes to provide children with eyeglasses by transferring needed cases to a specialized center.

Fund of Special Medical Needs

IZS contributes to provide poor patients with the following needs:

Afford some of the necessary medical supplies (Blood Pressure Measuring apparatus, Diabetes apparatus, prosthetic apparatus).
Help in conducting necessary medical tests for poor patients.
